Squidoo Lovey

This is a long overdue post. I've promised to create a simple tutorial to help you making your first Squidoo lens. I split the tutorial into 2 parts, the first one is to help anyone signing up to Squidoo & the second part is the tutorial for creating your first Squidoo lens.

PART 1 - SIGN UP TO SQUIDOO

1. Go to Squidoo.com and then click the sign up botton


2. Complete the registration form:


Tips: You can complete this form in one-go by transferring the details from your Facebook account.

3. Click "Join Now" after you finish completing the form.


Tips: Choose your username carefully, because you cannot change it in the future.

PART 2 - CREATE YOUR FIRST LENS

1. After your registration is successful, you will see your first squidoo lens building page.


2. First thing to do is to choose your lens title, which will make up the URL link of your lens. Choose your lens title carefully, you cannot change its URL link! The title should reflect the content of your lens and the keyword that you want to target for your readers & visitors.

For this tutorial, I chose "Naruto Coloring Pages & Printables" and the URL link is www.squidoo.com/naruto-coloring-pages-printables.


3. Choose the topic for your lens. There are currently 25 Squidoo main topics and each topic has its own sub-category.



4. Add tags relevant to your lens (I will explain about squidoo tags in more details on my next post) and your lens' content rating. At the moment, there are two squidoo content rating: G for general and R for Restricted. Any lenses that are published under R rating will only be accessible by Squidoo lensmasters, it will not be accessible by the general public.


5. Quick-pick the modules for your lens, but you can add / remove them later on the lens workshop page. So just skip this step for the moment. Enter the security word on the provided box and click "Build My Lens"


CONGRATULATIONS. You just built your first Squidoo Lens!
